SponsorshipsTax deductibility is now available for Australian tax payers for student sponsorships through the kind auspices of the Rotary Australian World Community Service [see the DONATE page]. At the Transhaven Chilunga Secondary SchoolThe greatest need is to support those disadvantaged students, including orphans, who cannot afford the fees but have shown an enthusiasm to participate in the schools activities to the fullest. To see some of the students in need please go to the PHOTO page. For new sponsors in 2008, the sponsorship rate for 12 months is AU$180, still only AU$15 per month, a very small amount to make a big difference! All sponsorship funds go DIRECTLY to the school covering fees, uniform, materials and teaching for the child you sponsor. The ages of sponsored students in 2007 ranged between 13 and 28 years, with almost 90% in the 15 to 22 years range! If you are happy to sponsor the most needy student at the time without any preferences please read how on the DONATE page, where a Student Sponsorships donation form is now available. At the Transhaven Trust Nursery SchoolA similar sponsorship scheme began in 2007 for the orphans and other disadvantaged children at the Transhaven Trust Nursery School. The sponsorship donation is only AU$120 for 12 months. This is your chance to make an enormous difference in the lives of 2 to 6 year old children in the Chilunga District of Zomba for only AU$10 per month. 35 children had been sponsored by February 2008. There are many more needing your help. The sponsorship scheme has been extended for those chidren who move up to the Primary School level at the Transhaven Chilunga Primary School and also for older students who have never had the opportunity to learn to read and write before.
